PatternsRadar vs Intradayscreener

Intradayscreener is for the trading session and PatternsRadar is for the evening after it. One scans live and alerts you as breakouts happen. The other loads after the close, replays your scan across as much of thirty years as the question needs, and emails you the matches. There is almost no overlap in when you would open them, and a swing trader may reasonably keep both.

The differences that matter

Nothing here fires during market hours

PatternsRadar is end-of-day. The data loads after the close, the alerts go out in the evening, and an opening-range breakout is not a thing this tool can see. For a trader who is flat by 3:30, Intradayscreener is the more useful of the two, and this comparison is only worth reading if some of your trades outlive the session.

Live scans act; replays test

A live scanner's job is to surface the breakout now. It has no reason to look back, and Intradayscreener does not. A swing setup is a bet about the next several days, though, and the reasonable question, how often this setup has been followed by a move, is unanswerable there. Here it is the default view of every scan: a window you set, up to four forward horizons you pick, an optional stop and target, the excess over an NSE index, with the caveats stated in the same panel. Their custom scanner stacks conditions: price above this, volume above that. What a stack cannot say is order in time. Sift can.

Which should you use?

When Intradayscreener is the right choice

Choose Intradayscreener if you trade the session. Live breakout scans, opening-range and open-equals-high/low lists, real-time alerts, an option chain and strategy builder, a next-day watchlist, mobile apps, order placement from the same screen. A meaningful part of that is free, and none of it exists here.

When PatternsRadar is the right choice

Choose PatternsRadar for trades you hold past the close: a readable query language over NSE price, volume and delivery data, a replay on every scan, thirty years of history, F&O fields as scan conditions, API and MCP access. Free to screen, ₹400/month for evening alerts.

Common questions

What is the difference between Intradayscreener and PatternsRadar?

When they run. Intradayscreener scans live and alerts during the session. PatternsRadar loads after the close. It replays scans against history and emails the matches in the evening. One is built for acting, the other for testing and watching.

Does Intradayscreener have backtesting?

Not that its listings or its site describe. Its scans are live, and the product is built around acting on them. The replay here runs every scan across any window up to thirty years and reports win rate, median move, payoff and index-excess over the forward horizons you choose, free.
